AOA Recruiting Thread

Again it is coming to that time of the year football season is approaching and that means that I am making my yearly call for those of you out there that would like the opportunity to join the Appalachian Officials Association. For those young people just graduating from High School and College this is a good opportunity to remain and participate in a sport that you have played and enjoyed for years. And for those of you a little older it is a chance to get back involved in athletics. Just let me or 1instripes know and we can get you into the group. Those that like to gripe about the officiating this is your chance to improve it.

I would love to see more. The group is getting very old and the numbers are getting fewer and fewer.

I used to work back there. That is the best place on the field to work but now I have been relegated to working in the worst position on the field with that stupid white hat on.

I was interested last year but something came up at the last second and I didn't get to go over to Lebanon that day...I am still interested this year so if I can get the meeting time and place I will try it again [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Guess I'll have to retain my right to gripe (work schedule does not allow me to do this, although I have often thought of it, having spent many years in youth officiating/coaching)
However, in the meantime, my refereeing will be done in the inmate gym at The Onion, as well as pulling double-duty, later refing the always inevitable boxing matches that go hand in hand with the games (and you all think you have tough crowds, and unruly fans [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wall.gif[/img])

Is C building still the rocking building on the Mountain. It was when I was there. (as an officer that is) Been there done that. I know how rough the crowds can be and it can get rough.
